In his artistic practice, Jacopo Belloni (*1992, Ancona, lives and works between Rome and Geneva) enquires the process of ”theatricalization” of contemporary reality. Through sculptures, installations and performances he plays with marginal evidences of our society to stage its perceptual, symbolic and narrative constructs.
Belloni has presented his works in international exhibition spaces and institutions, including Palazzo delle Esposizioni, (Rome, IT); Sans Titre (Paris, FR); ADA (Rome, IT); Aargauer Kunsthaus, (Aarau, CH); Centre d’Art Contemporain de la Ferme du Buisson (Marne-la-Vallée, FR); Kunsthalle Bern (Bern, CH); Forde, (Geneva, CH); Istituto Svizzero (Rome, IT); Palazzo Rebaudengo, (Guarene, IT); Centre d’Art Contemporain (Geneva, CH); Gessnerallee (Zürich, CH), Archivio Conz (Berlin, DE); Palais de Tokyo (Paris, FR). In 2023 he was nominated for the Swiss Art Awards and in 2021 for the Kiefer/Hablitzel Prize. In 2021 he took part in the Biennale College Arte. Belloni has been a fellow 2023/24 at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome.
Jacopo Belloni graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan (2014) and from the University of Milan (2018) and holds an MFA from HEAD, Geneva (2021).
His work is represented by ADA Projects, Rome.
